I grew up in Ontario and Alberta.
My education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, SAIT; BASc in Mechanical Engineering, UBC.
Notable accomplishments/awards: 2018 Concrete Toboggan Overall Champions, Capstone of the Year Award.
Why Flow? I admire Flow’s focus on growth and learning—it’s the kind of culture I’m excited to be part of.
What’s your favourite type of cake? Cheesecake.
What put me on the path to engineering: Joining a robotics team in high school.
What I like about systems design: It’s very creative—there’s often no single way to solve a problem, and the process of designing the system is like piecing together a puzzle.
A favourite moment in engineering: Riding down a snowy slope with five people in our concrete toboggan.
How mechanical/electrical engineering improves lives: Almost everything in the modern world today has been touched by an engineer at some point. Engineers are the backbone of our world, allowing us to continue advancing collectively.
I chose Vancouver because of mild winters and proximity to the mountains. There’s very few places you can ski after work.
When I’m not working you can find me chasing summits, snapping photos, skiing uphill, running—and occasionally remembering to relax.
On my playlist: Fred Again.
