I grew up in Vancouver, BC

My education: Bachelor of Applied Science, Major in Electrical Engineering, Certificate in Business, Queen’s University

Notable accomplishments: Finished the New York Times mini in sub 30 seconds one time getting the wordle in one.

Why Flow? After a few years in the industry, I was looking for a more personable, smaller firm where I would have a chance to grow organically. Flow checks those boxes while allowing me the opportunity to work on a multitude of interesting and unique projects.

What’s your favourite type of Cake? Ice cream cake

What put me on the path to engineering: I really enjoyed math and science growing up and loved learning about how things worked and were put together. Like so many engineers, I was a big Lego buff and liked to build things. In grade 10, I was part of a special STEM cohort at school that really cemented my desire to study engineering.

Something people might not know about what mechanical/electrical engineers do: There’s so much that goes into a project beyond merely just design. As engineers, we constantly have to work with contractors to ensure pricing is good for our clients, we lead procurement processes, manage many contractual documents, and give advisory on cost saving solutions for the project. This is where the real value add of hiring a good engineering firm comes from.

Projects I’m proud of: I worked on a multi-building lab campus for the Canadian government. The complexity of the design was quite high as there was a lot of redundancy in the mechanical and electrical design and even came with a central utility plant. The project forced me to develop so many different and unique skills.

What I love about working with clients: I always feel a profound sense of satisfaction once the project is fully complete and the client can move in for occupancy. Frequently this represents a culmination of months of coordination, design and teamwork to bring projects across the finish line and it brings me joy when our clients are satisfied. At Flow we have the pleasure of working with such a diverse group of clients that all offer different challenges.

I chose Vancouver because: I love the outdoors. I’m super into running, skiing and hiking so moving back to Vancouver after university was a no-brainer.

When I’m not working you can find me: In Spanky’s Ladder at Whistler trying to find some fresh powder

On my playlist: I vibe to Taylor Swift when I’m creating drawings in CAD.

At happy hour I order: Bellini

Coffee or tea: Both. I have an English grandmother so I couldn’t survive without English Breakfast, but I need my morning coffee.
