Bentall Tower 1 Chiller Replacement & Energy Study

The chilled water plant at Bentall Centre is nearing the end of life and requires replacement. When developing the strategy for replacement the Flow Team leveraged available incentives through the CleanBC program. The replacement arrangement includes a 250TR heat recovery chiller that will simultaneously produce heating and chilled water. Using the heat recovery chiller as a large heat pump allows us to reduce the heating load on the building’s gas boilers. The energy study estimates the new chilled water plant will permit the building to reduce its entire natural gas consumption by 25%.
