I grew up in Cham, Switzerland.

My education: Trade/university and electrical contractor licence school

Notable accomplishments: The electrical design of hundreds of residential, commercial, industrial projects of all sizes; heritage building award; lighting award; assisting many EIT achieve the P. Eng. status

What put me on the path to engineering: My career evolved from electrical contracting to engineering.

Something that surprised me about working in an engineering firm: The profession is not much appreciated, but necessary!

What I like about systems design is the end result.

Projects I’m proud of: There are so many, but particularly Waterfront Centre, Cathedral Place, Royal Centre, Metrotown Shopping Centre.

How mechanical engineering improves lives: It keeps citizens out of the dark and in comfort.

A favourite moment in engineering: A successful project completion and a happy client.

I chose Vancouver because it’s located in one of the world’s most beautiful countries.

I’m influenced by life itself.

I’m inspired to participate in making a better world.

I’m concerned that the environment is at a point of no return.

When I’m not working you can find me spending time with my spouse.

Something I’ve fixed/built from scratch at home: A 1000 sf house addition and a large 22’x24′ pond.

I’m surprisingly good at joking and being happy.

Quote that guides me right now: “Believe in a non-religious life in eternity.”

Transportation of choice: Bicycle
