Asif has earned accolades for his ability to work in partnership with clients to find practical, cost-effective and sustainable solutions. A natural engineer who worked his way up from constructing masterpieces with his prized Meccano set as a boy in India to fixing his own cars as a young man, Asif loves problem-solving and believes that most challenges cannot be resolved with a single magic bullet, but require a series of small, cumulative fixes. With practical knowledge that comes from decades of practice building and maintaining mechanical systems and refrigeration equipment, as well as extensive experience in systems assessment and planning, Asif has successfully designed mechanical systems in buildings across the public and private sectors. He is especially proud of Flow’s work on Vancouver Fire Hall No. 5—a LEED-certified building that includes the fire hall and four floors of social housing above it.

Asif is a Professional Engineer and a  LEED Accredited Professional. He has a diploma in mechanical engineering from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, and a degree in electrical engineering from the Indiana Institute of Technology.
